New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has reacted to the US move to increase H-1B visa fees, saying India “cannot move forward blindly” and must take necessary steps to address the situation. Speaking at a book launch event in Delhi, he linked current challenges to fragmented approaches adopted over centuries and stressed the need for a clear national path.
Calls For A Long-Term Vision
Bhagwat said India’s problems stem from a two-thousand-year-old system based on a “limited view of development and happiness.” He urged the country to shape its own destiny, guided by a holistic and timeless vision of progress. Only by following this “Sanatan approach,” he said, can India overcome present and future hurdles.
US-India Partnership Recalled
Recounting a past meeting with a prominent American, Bhagwat noted that discussions covered security, counterterrorism, and economic cooperation, yet the emphasis repeatedly returned to protecting US interests. He said India must ensure its partnerships serve its own priorities while preparing to face similar challenges again.
