Jamshedpur, Jan 25: Security measures have been beefed up at Tatanagar and other stations of Chakradharpur railway division in view of Republic Day on January 26.

The railway administration had already decided not to book parcels in trains going from Chakradharpur railway division to New Delhi between January 23-26.

A railway spokesperson of Chakradharpur said that VIP movement increases on January 26. Along with this, they would take to task panic and rumour mongers.

Escorts have been increased on the high profile Rajdhani Express, Purushottam Express, Geetanjali Express, Utkal Express, Sampark Kranti Express and Santragachi Anand Express, which travels through Tatanagar railway station.

The Railway Protection Force also issued a high alert in Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda and other stations of Chakradharpur railway division.

Intelligence sources said that there might be a possible Maoist attack on vulnerable railway stations during the Republic Day.

All police stations have been directed to increase vigil along the railway tracks.

The GRP and RPF have been asked to keep a close watch on trains and other vital railway installations.
