SAFE organises evacuation drill for school students in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 27: An evacuation drill was conducted at the Kerala Samajam Model School by SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) with the help of the Security and Fire Services team of Tata Steel.

Over 3,000 students participated in the mock drill. They were apprised about the processes to be followed such as emergency response plans, routes to be followed, headcount after evacuation, and other necessary protocols. The condition of fire extinguishers in the school were also checked as part of the drill.

Mom Mitra, convener of SAFE and manager of Safety at Tata Steel and Rakesh Joshi, Senior Manager of Fire Brigade at Tata Steel facilitated the mock drill.

SAFE organises these training sessions regularly to increase safety awareness among school children on various topics.

The SAFE club is a conglomerate of schools of Jamshedpur chaired by socialite Ruchi Narendran.

Tata Steel facilitates this initiative by organizing training on various topics and conducting mock drills for schools.
