KL Rahul was already named to the team, but his ability to play in the T20I series was still up in the air. The BCCI medical staff has prescribed rest for the batter after a COVID-19 positive test last week.

Sanju Samson participated in the team during the just-completed ODI series, which the team won 3-0.
