Jamshedpur, May 20: The Adityapur- based Electronic Manufacturing Cluster in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district will witness more action in the days to come. More entrepreneurs are turning up for setting up units at the cluster, the only of its kind in the state.
Sources in Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) said recently seven entrepreneurs including three from Pune and two from Kolkata were allotted land for setting up units.
With seven new units, the total count of units at the EMC has reached the 40 mark. The seven entrepreneurs have been allotted over five acres of land out of 49 acres earmarked for the electronic manufacturing industries under the green field project. Earlier, 24 cares of land have already been allotted to 31 entrepreneurs.
The EMC management had made a notification inviting entrepreneurs for setting up electronic manufacturing units in March.
Sources said slots for 14 more units under the green field project are available. A senior JIADA official said interactions with more entrepreneurs were on.
There are 92 spaces, measuring 1,000 square feet in each at the flatted factories. As of now, only three spaces have been occupied.
Located about 5 Km away from steel city, the EMC is an ambitious project. Though under JIADA, which has over 1,400 industrial units under its jurisdiction, the EMC is exclusively meant for electronics manufacturing units.
