Hazaribag, July 27: Thieves laid hands on an ATM machine in Barsot of Barhi subdivision. Not only thieves managed to uproot the machine containing cash but also took it with them. The ATM of SBI was located in Manoj Kumar a.k.a Manilal’s house near Barsot Chowk under the Barhi police station. The incident took place late last night. The thieves even took away the vehicle of the landlord parked outside the house. The incident came to light when the landlord woke up this morning and noticed that his vehicle was not outside when he came out. He even saw that the shutter of the ATM was also broken.
Manilal immediately informed to Mukhiya Motilal Chaudhary. Local people also started reaching there. They informed the Barhi police about this theft. After which SDO Poonam Kujur, DSP Nazir Akhtar and Police Inspector cum Officer-in-charge Rohit Kumar Singh reached the spot along with the police force. Police started the investigation followed by raids.
Officials said they don’t know how much cash was there in the ATM machine. It would be known only after the arrival of the staff of the bank, they said.
Singh said they are probing the case and soon will be able to arrest the culprits.
