Ranchi, Jan. 19: The bail petition of the power broker, Prem Prakash, is listed for hearing at the Supreme Court on January 20 and the matter will be heard by Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sundresh.

Prem Prakash is an accused in the illegal stone mining case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested him in August last year and charge-sheeted him before the special PMLA court in Ranchi.

The court of Justice Gautam Kumar Choudhary of Jharkhand High Court on January 10 had rejected his bail petition. The court, in its order, maintained that there was strong evidence of involvement of Prem Prakash in the money laundering.

Prem Prakash had contended that the ED could not establish his connection with Pankaj Mishra for the purpose of illegal mining. Besides, he claimed that his transactions with Sanjay Choudhary and Amit Agrawal was the part of the business which had nothing to do with the so-called illegal mining and transportation in Sahibganj. Kolkata-based businessman Amit Agrawal is also among the suspects of the illegal mining.
