Ramgarh, Dec.10: Students at Shri Agrasen School, Bhurkunda on Friday wrote postcards to be sent to the Prime Minister under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign.

In the postcard, the children wrote their messages in Hindi and English envisioning the unsung heroes of the freedom struggle and ‘My India in 2047.’ The campaign was organized by the Department of Posts.

About 400 students participated in the postcard writing.  Sunil Kumar Singh, Postmaster of the Department of Posts, Bhurkunda said that the best entry will be selected after screening all the entries. Under this campaign, the selected students will participate in the final events in January 2022 after all the postcards reach the PMO office. Postcard writing can be done in any language notified in the Constitution.

On this occasion, Director of the school, Praveen Rajgarhia, said that this campaign will give an opportunity to the coming generation to know about the unsung heroes of freedom.  At the same time, children who are the future of this country, can keep their thinking for the upliftment and development of India.  It is necessary to inculcate in the children the vision of how our country will look in 2047 on the completion of hundred years of independence.

Principal Neelkamal Sinha said that at present children are active on social media.  In such a situation, once again on the initiative of the Prime Minister, children will be able to understand the importance of postcards, how letters are written. They will be able to know the old communication system through postcards.

Sadhna Sinha, Deepika Tiwari, Sriparna Gupta, Sonam Khatoon, Kusum Kumari and Poonam Kumari of the postal department contributed to the success of the event.
