New Delhi, Dec.10: As India pays its tributes to late CDS General Bipin Rawat, the Air Force announced this afternoon that an investigation into the chopper crash that killed him and 12 others, including his wife, would be finished “as soon as possible.”
The IAF has launched a tri-service inquiry, which would be led by Air Marshal Manvendra Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Training Command, according to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. To pay respects, both houses of parliament conducted a two-minute silence.
“IAF has constituted a tri-service Court of Inquiry to investigate the cause of the tragic helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. The inquiry would be completed expeditiously & facts brought out. Till then, to respect the dignity of the deceased, uninformed speculation may be avoided,” a statement on Twitter read.

On Thursday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes as all 13deceased that were carried back to Delhi aboard a C130-J Super Hercules plane.
“India will never forget his great service,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said earlier, describing him as “an amazing soldier” and “a true patriot.”
