Sources said eight years old Rishu, a student of Std-II went out of the school campus with his other friends during lunch time to catch a parrot they spotted on a tree. With his other friends busy in looking for a parrot, Rishu saw a hole near the root of the tree. He put his hand inside mistaking it as the home of a parrot. But a poisonous snake present inside bit him on his hand.

Rishu rushed to his school and told a teacher Mohammad Salish that a parrot had bitten him. The teacher gave him medicine and sent him to his class where he passed unconscious. His parents were informed and the boy was rushed to a nearby hospital but he died.

Angry parents and villagers locked the school and demanded action against teachers who maintained a negligent attitude in this case. Block Development Officer (BDO) Premchand Sinha and Block Education Extension Officer Rakesh Singh reached there and pacified agitators. They promised action after the probe which made agitators leave the spot. Later last rites of the boy were performed.
