Ranchi, Jan 2: Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University Vice Chancellor Dr Prof Tapan Kumar Shandilya on Monday said that the University will soon get a Science and Research Centre for research work.
The VC said this while explaining his plans for the university in the New Year. He said it would not only help students but will also bring the university on a map. He further added that he has already sent a proposal in this regard.
Furthermore, VC Shandilya said that he was also working on establishing a Central Library for the university with a budget of over Rs 1 crore, a proposal for which has already been sent for approval.
The VC, while explaining this decision said, “Students here are unaware of the importance of a Central Library and are satisfied with their respective departmental libraries. A library in the university should have subscriptions to newspapers like The Hindu, Statesman, Frontier and The Economic Times, which provide valuable information to students preparing for competitive examinations. Also, the library should have recent journals, both online and offline from various publications in various streams.”
