Jamshedpur, Aug 26: In an attempt to clear the extra rush of passengers, South Eastern Railway has decided to continue the running of a couple of special trains passing through Tatanagar and other stations of Chakradharpur railway division.
As per a notification issued on Thursday by Garden Reach, the Kolkata-based headquarters of South Eastern Railway the running of weekly Okha- Howrah Special via Tatanagar has been extended beyond September 5, till further notification.
Similarly, the running of Howrah- Okha Special train has been extended beyond September 7, till further orders.
The bi-weekly Porbander – Howrah Special will continue to run beyond September 1. The train which travels via Tatanagar currently runs on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Howrah -Porbandar Special which runs on Friday and Saturday will continue to run beyond September 3, till further orders as per notification issued by the headquarters of South Eastern Railway on Thursday.
A South Eastern Railway spokesperson said the running of the special trains has been extended to clear the rush of passengers and also in view of the festive season ahead.
He went on to say that all important railway stations through which the special trains travel have been informed above the extension.
Railway sources revealed that another list of special trains for various other destinations would be released soon regarding their extensions.
