Ranchi, Nov 18: VIT Vellore, Chennai, Amravati and Bhopal campus will be conducting entrance exams for Btech from April 15 to 21. VIT group of institutions has courses for 66 undergraduate, 58 postgraduate, 15 integrated programs, 2 research programs and 2 Mtech industrial programs.
For admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at the VIT group of institutions, the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is held. The VITEEE will be held at specific locations throughout India and abroad between April 15 and April 21, 2023 (tentative). The test will last for two hours and thirty minutes.
For the VITEEE, candidates may only show up once. All questions will be multiple choice, with one mark awarded for the correct response and zero for the incorrect one. There will be 125 questions in total, with 40 questions each in the sections of math/biology, physics, chemistry, aptitude, and English (5 questions). Only English will be used on the test.
Eligibility
Nationality
- The applicant must be an Indian national who is a resident, a non-resident, a PIO, or an OCI.
- Through the NRI application form, NRI applicants may apply directly under the “NRI Category.” (Will be accessible soon)
- Students from abroad who wish to apply can do so directly through the international application form. (Will be accessible soon)
Age Limit
- Candidates for engineering admission in 2023 must have a birthdate that is on or after July 1, 2001.
- The date of birth listed on the high school diploma, SSC certificate, or X certificate will be taken as accurate.
- At the time of counselling or admission, applicants must present this original certificate as identification of their age; otherwise, their candidacy for admission will be disqualified.
Qualifying Examination
Candidates for UG Engineering admission must have passed one of the following qualifying exams by 2023 or plan to take one of them.
- The State Board, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), all of which are located in New Delhi, jointly administer the 10+2 system’s final examination.
- A recognised Board or University will administer the intermediate or two-year pre-university examination.
- Cambridge University’s High School Certificate Examination or the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate Office’s diploma are two options. (HL in Physics & Math; SL in Chemistry)
- Advanced (A) level General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination from London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka.
- Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible for Undergraduate Engineering programmes. At the time of joining, applicants must present the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate.
Qualifying Examination Performance
- A minimum cumulative score of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology was required for applicants to the Undergraduate Engineering programme in 2023 (+2/Intermediate).
- Candidates applying for Undergraduate Engineering Admission in 2023 must have passed the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology with a minimum aggregate of 50% for the following categories:
- Candidates who identify as SC/ST
- applicants from the Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, as well as Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh. At the time of counseling, a certificate proving community or nativity must be presented; otherwise, admission will not be considered.
Subject Eligibility
All B. Tech programmes are open to PCMB/PCM applicants who took Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Aptitude in the VITEEE 2023.
Only the following programmes are open to PCMB/PCM/PCB applicants who attempted Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Aptitude in the VITEEE 2023.
- B.Tech. Biotechnology (VIT, Vellore)
- B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Bioinformatics (VIT, Vellore)
- B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering with specialisation in Biomedical Engineering (VIT, Vellore)
- B.Tech. Bioengineering (VIT-Bhopal)
- B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Specialization in Health Informatics) (VIT-Bhopal)
