Chatra, Aug 16: A youth who went close to the fall to click a selfie slipped into the famous Tamasin waterfall in Kanachatti block under Chatra district on August 15 with divers managing to find his body this evening. Identified as Durgesh Kushwaha (27), the youth was a resident of Bihar and was working in a private company based at Koderma. The fall is situated 32 km away from the district headquarters.

Sources said Durgesh came here with a  group of 12 youths from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who work with him in the same company. Durgesh, son of  Kanchan Kushwaha of Bargaon panchayat under Mairwa police station of Siwan district of Bihar first visited the Ninth century Ma Bhadrakali temple in Itkhori block. After offering prayers, he and his team took to Tamasin, which is only 8 km from there.

Sources said as he slipped into the waterfall,  a lot of efforts were made by his friends to save him, but to no avail.  Failed to trace him, they informed the local people who passed the information to Rajpur police station in-charge Bholanath Das and Circle Officer Hulas Mahto. The duo officers took quick action and reached the spot with the force and started searching for the body with the help of local divers. But all efforts failed with the search operation being called off on Tuesday evening. Today, the search operation started again and after several hours of effort, the body was fished out at 4:30 in the evening.

All the youths who came with Durdesh work in a company in the Chandwara block of the Koderma district. Sources said on August 15, all the employees of the company were given leave.

Das once again urged people not to take risks while making reels and selfies at this place. So far many incidents have taken place here with a number of people losing their lives.
