Jamshedpur, Nov 23: The body of a 27-year-old youth was found floating in a nullah between Gitibera and Raipur road under the Kandra thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district about 18 km away from Jamshedpur this morning.

The body which is yet to be identified was suspected to have been dumped in the watercourse after murder somewhere else. The deceased who was of fair complexion had put on a blue jacket and black jeans.

Some local residents had come to the nullah for taking bath in the morning and eventually discovered the floating body. Soon after the news about the body spread in the locality like wildfire, leading a police party from the Kandra thana to rush to the spot.

OC of Kandra police station Rajendra Kumar Mahto who inspected the scene said that this was a case of murder. “Getting the body identified is our priority. Once the body is identified, we will be able to detect everything,” said Mahto while talking to lagatar24.com.

The police recovered the body and sent it to the Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
