SER’s remarkable freight loading performance continues

Jamshedpur, May 9: South Eastern Railway (SER) has loaded 16.64 Million Tonnes of originating freight in the month of April 2023 as against 16.18 Million Tonnes loaded in April 2022, registering a growth of 2.90 per cent.

South Eastern Railway achieved record freight loading of 202.60 Million tonnes in the last financial year (i.e.2022-23) and this increasing trend has also continued in the first month of the current fiscal.

There has also been an increase of 4.93 % in originating freight revenue in April 2023 in comparison to April 2022.

In April 2023, the revenue generation from originating freight loading has been Rs 1467.45 crore as against Rs.1398.53 crore in the same month of the previous year.

SER loaded 4.14 Million Tonnes of coal in April 2023, which is 13.74 % more than the corresponding month of last fiscal.

Other major commodities of freight loading during April 2023 were Iron Ore (8.39 Million tonnes), Pig Iron and  Finished Steel (1.48 Million tonnes), Cement (1.51 Million tonnes) etc.
