SER’s two ticket-checking staff collect Rs 1 crore each in fines

Jamshedpur, March 28: Two ticket-checking staff of South Eastern Railway achieved remarkable performance by collecting record penalties from passengers.

Pintu Das, special ticket checking staff of Kharagpur Division and Piyush Kumar, ticket examiner of Ranchi Division of South Eastern Railway have collected more than Rs 1 crore each as a penalty from ticket checking during the current financial year (upto March 26, 2023).

Pintu Das and Piyush Kumar have achieved the individual feat of revenue collection of Rs 1 crore from ticketless or irregular travelling cases. This is the highest ever earnings achieved by any ticket checking staff of South Eastern Railway and the first time individual collection crossed Rs 1 crore.

As per railway records Pintu Das of Kharagpur Division has collected Rs 1 crore by detecting 11,861 irregular travelling cases and Piyush Kumar of Ranchi Division has collected Rs 1.02 crore from 11,657 cases for achieving this remarkable performance during the period.

Both of them were felicitated by the commercial department of South Eastern Railway for their dedication, hard work and devotion toward duty.
