Dhanbad, Aug 4: A seven-year-old alive girl, who was wrapped in a sack, was found lying in a roadside drain on the Telephone Exchange Road under Dhansar police station of the coal city on Thursday morning.
The police said that several morning-walkers traced the girl after hearing crying sounds coming out from the drainage. They informed the Dhansar police about the incident. When the police unpacked the sack and found the girl inside it.
Dhansar police station officer RK Singh said that girl was reported missing from Joraphatak road’s famous Shakti Mandir on Wednesday evening. The girl’s mother is a beggar at the temple and the girl was also with her in the evening when she went missing.
“A boy has been taken into custody for interrogation. The boy was seen with the girl near the temple but the motive behind packing her in a sack and dumping it in the drainage is yet to be known. The girl was handed over to her mother,” the police officer said.
