Ramgarh, May 10: A high-speed passenger bus overturned while going from Badam stand to Hazaribagh under the Badkagaon block of the district. More than a dozen passengers were injured in this accident including women and children.
On receiving information about the incident, the Barkagaon police reached the spot and took the bus into possession.
Some injured persons are residents of Nawada in Bihar. The seriously injured passengers were referred to the Hazaribagh Medical College Hospital, while the rest were treated at the local PHC.
“In the morning a bus named JKY overturned near the bridge mode near Middle School and fell into the field. As soon as the bus overturned, the driver Pappu and the cleaner Sarwar fled away,” said police.
Eyewitnesses said that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He returned from a procession on Monday night and came to drive the bus in the morning.
