Jamshedpur, Oct 2: South Eastern Railway on Saturday notified extension of Shalimar- LTT ( Mumbai) Special train till March next year.

The train runs via Tatanagar and several other stations of the Chakradharpur division.

The LTT- Shalimar Special will run on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday till March 29 next year while the return train from Shalimar will run on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, as per the fresh schedule.

Railway authorities said the extension of the train will also help in easing the festive rush.

The ticket bookings in several long-distance trains of various destinations have witnessed a rush due to the upcoming Durga Puja and other festivals.

Confirmed seats are not available in most trains between October 9 and 14.

Meanwhile, the timing of around 40 special and half-a-dozen passenger trains running in South Eastern Railway jurisdiction has been revised as per the new timetable which came into effect from October 1.
