Shambhu Agarwal is president of Ranchi Bar Association for 9th time

Ranchi, Oct 6: Shambhu Agarwal became the president of the Ranchi Bar Association for the 9th time as the Association declared its result on Wednesday. Sanjay Kumar Vidrohi has won the post of General Secretary for the second time by defeating Anil Kanth by 315 votes.

At the same time, the vice-president’s post was secured by Binay Kumar Rai for the second time. Pawan Ranjan Khatri won the post of Administrative Secretary. Joint Secretary Libraries post was secured by Pradeep Kumar for the first time.

Mukesh Kumar Kesari and Deen Dayal Singh have won the post of Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer respectively the first time.

The counting of votes continued for more than 12 hours till 5:15 am. The counting of votes was to be held from 10.30 am on Tuesday, but due to the difference in the total vote figures, there was a dispute, due to which the candidates created a ruckus. The election officials then tallied the votes. When the candidates were completely satisfied, the counting of votes started at 3 pm.

Earlier on Monday, polling was held all day. In the elections held for the session 2021-23, this time a record 84.64 per cent voting was done. Out of 2155 voters, 1793 voters exercised their vote. 38 candidates were in the race for 7 office bearers and 40 for 9 executive members.
