New Delhi, March 14: Shreyas Iyer, Indian batsman was named the ICC’Men’s Player of the Month’ for February on Monday, while New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr was named the ICC’Women’s Player of the Month’.
Iyer won the trophy for his outstanding white-ball performances during the home series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka last month. He beat out Vriitya Aravind of the UAE and Dipendra Singh Airee of Nepal for the title.
In the third ODI against the West Indies in Ahmedabad, the right-hander hit a match-winning 80 and backed it up with a quick 16-ball 25 in the final game of the three-match T20I series.
In the T20I series against Sri Lanka, he was even better, scoring 204 runs without getting dismissed in three innings with a strike rate of 174.36.
In a Player of the Series effort, he hit 57*(28), 74*(44), and 73*(45) in three games, while also hitting 20 fours and seven sixes.
