New Delhi, August 1: The Delhi Police Special Cell helped extradite Sachin Bishnoi, also known as Sachin Thapan, from Baku, Azerbaijan to India who is the main suspect in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala.
A comprehensive press conference would be held by the police later today, Delhi Police Special Cell Commissioner HGS Dhaliwal said.
After the shocking murder of Moosewala in May 2022, Sachin Bishnoi, a relative of famed mobster Lawrence Bishnoi, had been missing.
Bishnoi, who is from Fazilka in the Punjab, was reportedly detained in Azerbaijan in August of last year.
Bishnoi left the country with a fake passport just a few days before Sidhu Moosewala was killed.
Prominent convicted Mobster Lawrence Bishnoi’s key aide Vikramjeet Singh, also known as Vikram Brar, was earlier this month detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after his deportation to India from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has also been transferred from a jail in Gujarat to the Mandoli prison in the nation’s capital. He has denied being a part of the murder of Moosewala.
Sidhu Moosewala, 28, was fatally murdered; one day after the Punjab government reduced his security cover on May 29 of last year, in Mansa.
When the singer arrived at the Mansa civil hospital after being shot at point-blank range, he was pronounced dead. Local residents discovered Moosewala collapsed in the driver’s seat after the attackers shot over 30 rounds at him.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was responsible for the daylight murder, according to the investigation. His close aide Goldy Brar, who is said to reside in Canada, was also the subject of this probe. Through Interpol, the police issued a Red Corner Notice for Brar.
The incident occurred two days after Punjab Police withdrew the security cover of 424 persons, including that Moosewala.
Vijay Singla of the AAP defeated Moosewala, who had run for office from Mansa in the most recent Assembly election on a Congress ticket. Bishnoi was detained on November 23 by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with an alleged plot to recruit young people to carry out terror attacks in Delhi and other regions of the nation.
