Dhanbad, Aug 4: Five students excelled in the singing competition of the Sindri College cultural fest held on Friday.
Programme coordinator Vishu Meghnani said that on the fourth day of the week-long cultural festival today only a single event, a singing competition was organized in which large numbers of boys and girls students participated.
After several rounds, six students Madu Dey, Vikram Kumar Rajak, Manideep Saha, Pawan Kumar, Tanu Singh and Diya Kumari were screened for the final stage. The winner and runner-ups would be given prizes at the closing ceremony on August 15.
Students participated in solo classical, semi and group folk events of the singing competition.

The week-long cultural festival which started on August 1, is being jointly organized by the Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) meant for NAAC and the cultural department of the institution.
Senior professors of the college cum festival organizing committee members Dr Sunita Jaiswal (professor in-charge), Dr A Mallick, Dr Sharmistha Acharya (organizing committee secretary), Dr Nitu Gaurav, Dr Mamta Kumari, Dr Anil Ashutosh, Dr Anuradha Das conducted the function.
Earlier on Thursday, poem recitation and speech competitions were held in which Jyoti Kumari, Julie and Prerna got high appreciation from the jury members.
