Mandya, Oct 6: The Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed on Thursday in the Mandya district of Karnataka with Congress President Sonia Gandhi accompanying her son Rahul Gandhi. Sonia Gandhi joined the march on foot when she got to Jakannahalli. The march had started in Pandavapura Taluk at 6.30 am and is scheduled to end at Nagamangala Taluk at 7 pm.

Three female MLAs from the area, Anjali Nimbalkar, Roopakala, and Lakshmi Hebbalkar, joined Sonia Gandhi.

After the walk, there will be a gathering at the village of Brahmadevarahalli. The party officials would set up camp at the Government Ayurvedic Hospital opposite Madake Hosuru Gate in Nagamangala Taluk. Beginning on September 7 in Kanyakumari, the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered the Karnataka leg last Friday when party head Rahul Gandhi crossed into the state through Gundlupet in the district of Chamarajanagar that borders Kerala.

The Congress posted information about the march in the Mandya district of BJP-led Karnataka on Twitter saying, “A journey of hopes, love and victory, that’s the spirit of BharatJodoYatra which will resume from Pandavapura Taluk and end at Nagamangala Taluk today.”
