Jamshedpur, Aug 1: Abhay Kumar Gupta today took over the charge of Senior Deputy General Manager of South Eastern Railway.
Prior to his new posting and taking over the charge, he was Divisional Railway Manager, South Central Railway, Secunderabad.
Abhay Kumar Gupta, IRSE (Indian Railway Service of Engineers) of 1989 Batch joined Indian Railways in the capacity of Assistant Divisional Engineer, Umaria, Bilaspur Division in the erstwhile South Eastern Railway in the year 1993.
He graduated in civil engineering from HBTI, Kanpur. Over three decades of service, he has held several important assignments on Indian Railways.
He has served on various important posts such as Sr.DivisionalEngineer/Central/Khurda Road; Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction), Bhubaneswar, Professor(Track)/IRICEN, Deputy Chief Engineer(Construction), Kanpur, Secretary to General Manager, North Central Railway, Allahabad, Chief Engineer(Construction), North Central Railway, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, North Western Railway, Jodhpur Division, Chief Track Engineer, North Western Railway, Chief Engineer (Construction), North Western Railway, Jaipur.
Gupta has undergone training in prestigious railway institutes like the National Academy of Indian Railways, Vadodara; Indian Railways Institute of Civil Engineering, Pune; Indian School of Business, Hyderabad; INSEAD/ Singapore and ICLIF/Malaysia.
He has vast experience in managing mega projects of doubling/third line.
He has travelled extensively and his contribution in various civil engineering, track and bridge works is noteworthy.
He has a keen interest in sports, railway history and heritage as well as socio-cultural activities.
