Ranchi, Sept.9: Taking a major step to end the deadlock over the allotment of a room for offering Namaz, the state assembly constituted a seven-member committee to take a decision on the allotment of a room for offering Namaz in the assembly premises.

The committee members are Stephen Marandi (JMM), Pradeep Yadav (Independent), Neelkant Singh Munda (BJP), Sarfaraz Ahmed (JMM), Vinod Singh (CPI-ML), Lambodar Mahto (Ajsu) and Deepika Pandey Singh (Congress).

Speaker Rabindranath Mahto announced the committee informing the legislators that the committee has been given a deadline of 45 days to submit its report.

“Though the committee has been given 45 days to submit its report, I expect it to submit its report before the deadline,” speaker Mahto said.

Earlier, the House passed four bills. The bills include Jharkhand State Open University Bill 2021, Jharkhand Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill 2021, Jharkhand State Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Amendment) Bill 2021, and Finance Bill- 2021.

Before the Jharkhand State Open University Bill 2021 was passed, CPI-ML legislator Vinod Singh suggested sending it to the select committee for its enrichment in the larger interest of the people but the same was not allowed.
