Dhanbad, June 14: Stage is set for the three-day 11th Senior National Men/Women Dragon Boat Racing Championship 2023 to be held at Jawahar Ghati, Tilaiya Dam, Hazaribagh from June 16 to June 18.
Since this is the first time the Senior National Men/Women Dragon Boat Racing Championship is being organised in Jharkhand, the Governor is likely to inaugurate the event.
The championship is being organized jointly by the Hazaribagh district administration and the Dragon Boat Association of Jharkhand.
Giving the information today, Organizing secretary Santosh Prasad said that teams from 21 states of the country have confirmed their participation in the three-day championship. The inauguration ceremony would be held at 10 am on June 16 and the closing ceremony at 2 pm on June 18.
The organizing committee has brought three international competition-level costly boats from Chandigarh.
“ Since this is the first time the Senior National Men/Women Dragon Boat Racing Championship is being organized in Jharkhand, we have made international-level arrangements for participating teams so that they return with a high impression from our state,” said Santosh Prasad.
Accommodation for participants has been arranged at International School Barhi. An organizing committee including the organizing director (Rohit Kumar Singh) and organizing convener (Alok Kumar) has been constituted for holding the championship successfully.
