Ranchi: The construction of the Regional Eye Institute at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi is nearing completion, heralding a new era of advanced eye care in the region. The upcoming institute will not only treat various eye ailments but will also specialize in corneal transplants and other complex ophthalmological procedures.

Facility Expected to Begin Services by August

According to officials from the building department, the construction work is expected to be completed by the end of July, with the building likely to be handed over by late July or August. Patient services are anticipated to commence within two months following the handover.

Key Highlights of the New Eye Institute

Modern Eye Bank: The institute will house a state-of-the-art eye bank, offering affordable corneal transplant services to patients.

24-Hour Laboratory Services: A central laboratory operating round the clock will ensure that patients no longer have to wait for diagnostic tests.

Enhanced Healthcare Services: With new staff appointments and extended OPD hours planned, RIMS aims to deliver superior healthcare services to patients.

The establishment of this specialized institute is expected to significantly improve eye care infrastructure in Jharkhand, offering residents access to advanced treatments and procedures previously unavailable in the state.
