Dhanbad July 10: Ranchi and Chatra dominated Jharkhand State Junior Wushu Championship sharing all 10 gold medals on the first day which started at Tata Steel Community Centre, Digwadih.
The Ranchi team playing like a true champion bagged five gold and three silver while the Chatra team that are giving a tough fight to Ranchi won five gold and one silver medal.
Jamshedpur (East Singhbhum) had to contend with two bronze medals. Dhanbad and the other 20 districts are yet to open their account in the championship so far.
Komola Kumar of Sahebganj won a silver medal in the championship.
Ranchi’s gold medal winner players are- L Platodip Singh, Priya Gadi, Prince Mahto, Anit Munda, Komal Harshita. Besides them, Ranchi’s Bhaiya Akshan Sinha, Shiv Kanta and Komal Harshita Verma won silver medals.
Chatra district’s gold medal winners are- Vikram Kumar Ganjhu, Iva Kumari, Sumo Kumari, Shivam Kumar and Roshni Kumari. Besides them, Tanu Kumari bagged a silver medal for the district.
Prapti Mahto and Najia Imam of Jamshedpur won bronze medals.
Earlier, Col Bhawani Singh, head of administration of Tata Steel Jharia Division inaugurated the championship. The manager HR Piyush Kumar, manager HR Sweta, Jharkhand Wushu Association general secretary Shailendra Dubey, treasurer Ratnesh Kumar, Amrendra Dutt, Raji Ahmed, Dipak Gope, Shivendra Dubey, Dinesh Yadav, Ajay Kumar Singh, Rahul and others were present in the inaugural function.
