Stock Market Opens in Green for Second Consecutive Day, Sensex Surges 372 Points, Nifty Nears 22,500

Mumbai: The stock market opened in the green for the second consecutive day on Thursday, with Sensex and Nifty both showing gains. The Sensex surged 372.68 points, opening at 74,102.91, while the Nifty jumped 118.05 points to start at 22,455.5. The Nifty Bank and Nifty Midcap 100 indices also saw an upward trend. Nifty Bank climbed 239.60 points to 48,739.55, while Nifty Midcap 100 gained 546.10 points, reaching 49,714.45.

Asian Paints Sees 1.88% Surge

Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 25 opened in the green, while 5 traded in the red. Infosys witnessed the biggest decline of 0.44%, whereas Asian Paints recorded the highest surge of 1.88%.

Market Performance on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the stock market also closed in the green. The Sensex ended 740.30 points higher, settling at 73,730.23, while Nifty surged 254.65 points to 22,237.0. Similarly, Nifty Bank gained 244.75 points, closing at 48,489.95, and Nifty Midcap 100 rose by 1,160.50 points to 49,168.5.
