Daltonganj, Nov.25: A street vendor named Mannu Singh, who sells dry roasted grains at the Barwadih bazar in the Latehar district, took his first dose of Covid vaccine while standing on the roadside.
ANM Madhuri Kumari, while talking to lagatar24.com, told that the vendor was in two minds about taking the jab and had been postponing the vaccine for a long time. She said that if she had not given him the vaccine on the roadside, he would have again deferred his vaccination which would have further harmed him.
Madhuri had been following Mannu Singh to provide him the vaccine since before but he was buying time by saying who would bring food for the family if he contracts fever after taking the jab. He also argued that his left arm would hurt after taking the vaccine and then it would not be possible for him to carry out the business. He even made an excuse that he does not have his Aadhaar card with him.
The ANM then assured him that nothing will happen to him and she will look after his ‘thela’ while he goes and brings his adhaar card.
Following the incident some sources informed that ANMs in the districts have to plead anything for doing their job. Sometimes they have to do odd jobs which their profession does not call for at all like this watching of the thela in Latehar’s district Barwadih market. But their dedication towards the job never gets hindered.
