Ranchi, April 26: The Jharkhand Yuva Sadan is set to organise the three-day Youth Assembly from Tuesday coming up with a new concept. Youth from every corner of Jharkhand are selected and brought on one platform to learn about democracy and the politics of the country/state.
Students that are chosen as members of the Youth Assembly are informed of the workings of an assembly. The youth further even propose ideas and bring up proposals to help the poor in their selected regions. They further organise a mock sabha where the youth represent different parts of the state/nation and act as the MLA/MP of their regions.
Advocate Krishan Anand, Director, Yuva Sadan said that this time Jharkhand Yuva Sadan is coming up with a new concept. “We want to give a message from our platform to showcase the point of the representative in proportion to the population prominently and to help implement it.
This time the number of seats in Jharkhand Yuva Sadan has been kept at 160. There should be one MLA for every 2 lakh people. As a result, the pressure of the population on the selected candidate will be less and the problem of the people will be solved comparatively easily.
Informing of the schedule of the event, Amit Sharma, executive member, Chamber of Commerce said that politics is seen in a negative light these days.
“The goal of organizing such an event is to help the youth understand the importance of a house and to explain to them the pressure that the selected candidates have on. Several eminent members of the state inform the youth about politics and parliamentary functioning. This programme is going to be held from May 14 to May 16 under the aegis of Yuva Sadan and Jharkhand Technical University, Ranchi,” he said.
One of the judges for the Jharkhand Yuva Sadan, Dr Neha Kaur talked of the selection process that goes into the selection of a candidate in the house. She said that the selection is done by an independent jury who selects the candidates after the nomination is filed online.
She further added, “This programme is being organised this year at the JUT auditorium, wherein Governor Ramesh Bais will be the chief guest. Several MPs, MLAs and ministers are to be guests on the occasion.
An incentive amount of up to one lakh will also be given by the Yuva Sadan to the best performer. Interested youth can register at www.yuvasadan.org.
