Jamshedpur, Sept 7: A sub-inspector of police, Mohan Singh, posted at the MGM thana was arrested red-handed by a team of Anti-crime Bureau ( ACB) while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Tuesday.
A local person Binod Gope had lodged a complaint with the ACB that the accused had demanded Rs 1 lakh for settlement of a case. But, later he agreed to settle the issue by taking Rs 10,000.
Soon after his arrest here this afternoon a team of ACB also went over to the accused’s house at Dimna Road in Mango for a search operation.
The accused was brought to the ACB office in Sonari from where he was later sent to Ghaghidih Central Jail at Karandih in the outskirts of the steel city, after his production before a magistrate.
