Ranchi/New Delhi: The Supreme Court has instructed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to approach the Jharkhand High Court regarding the lifting of the stay on the trial against former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda in a money laundering case. The ED had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Jharkhand High Court’s order from November 8, 2023, which accepted Koda’s appeal against framing of charges and halted proceedings in the trial court.
A bench comprising Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar heard the case and set November 25 as the date for further hearings on the ED’s petition. The Supreme Court directed the High Court to consider ED’s petition within seven days of it being filed.
