Ranchi, May 4: The Supreme Court dismissed the petition of AJSU parliamentarian Chandra Prakash Choudhary demanding stay on Panchayat election in Jharkhand.

MP from Giridih parliamentary constituency Choudhary had demanded to put the Panchayat election on hold saying the election was announced without giving reservation to OBCs.

The apex court, however, directed the state government to make proper arrangement for the triple test to ensure reservation to OBCs before the next election.

The apex court while dismissing the petition observed that since the process of election has been started it will not be proper to stop the election.

First of all, the court of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice Abhay S Oka heard the matter. Seeing the seriousness of the matter it was transferred to a three-judge bench, from where the order came after hearing all parties today.
