Ranchi, Feb.11: Director General of Police (DGP) Neeraj Sinha is likely to continue working more days though he attained his retirement age on January 31 this year.
The situation came after the Supreme Court did not show any urgency in hearing the matter related to the appointment of DGP in Jharkhand after K.N.Choubey, who was appointed DGP after due clearance from UPSC, went on central deputation before completing his tenure and in his place M.V.Rao was appointed as acting DGP and then Rao was also removed to bring Sinha.
The Jharkhand government’s advocate in the Supreme Court Pragya Singh Baghel informed Lagatar.in saying the court following the request of early hearing by the petitioner verbally observed that the matter is not so urgent that it should be heard immediately and turned down the request.
The case was heard on September 9 last year.
