Ranchi, March 25: The second day of the 7-day special camp by the National Service Scheme (NSS) saw the college principal B P Verma address the volunteers present on the occasion.
College principal Verma, while addressing the volunteers said, “NSS volunteers must make people aware of the importance of education in the society as even in present times, where everything is so modernised, there are people that are uneducated and even keep their children so. She further added that the goal of NSS should not only be followed in one’s life but be adapted to it.
She was speaking at the 7-day special camp organised by NSS Unit 01 and Unit 02 of Doranda College at the college premises. Chief guest on the occasion was Dean of Student Welfare, Ranchi University; Dr. Rajkumar Sharma, who in his address said that everyone should work self-reliantly and honestly to help better their society.
NSS Program Coordinator Dr. Brajesh Kumar of Ranchi University said that change in society cannot be brought in a day, if one keeps trying continuously, change is certain. He further said that after doing the 7-day special camp, students must evaluate themselves and check for any changes that they might have implemented in themselves.
The college has also adopted a Panchayat in the Namkum police station area and will also do social service work and will help in the betterment of the area.
Discussing the panchayat, Program Officer of NSS Unit 01 Shalini said that the whole team will have to work hard to help people in the adopted village.
Dr. Emeline Kerketta on the occasion said that the 7-day special camp by NSS, will help develop leadership spirit in the volunteers. The programme was conducted by NSS team leader Diwakar Anand, while other students including Aabhas, Aarav Singh, Aman, Suraj, Bobby, Harshit, Shravan, Manbahal among others were present on the occasion.
