New Delhi, March 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Thursday that the most important goal for India in the twenty-first century is to become self-sufficient and contemporary.
PM Modi made the remarks via video conferencing while speaking at the Valedictory Function of the 96th Common Foundation Course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration (LBSNAA).

He also dedicated the rebuilt Happy Valley Complex to the nation and launched the new sports complex.
“Over the years, I have spoken to civil servants of many batches, met and spent a long time with them. But your batch is very special. You are starting your work in the 75th year of India’s independence,” he said speaking to the IAS trainees.
“Many of us will not be there when India enters its 100th year of independence. But this batch of yours will be there at the time. In this ‘Amritkaal’ of India’s independence, you will have a huge role to play in the development that the country will undertake in the next 25 years,” he added.
PM Modi instructed the group to work while keeping in mind the most important goal of the twenty-first century, which is for India to become self-sufficient and contemporary.
During their training, he claimed, the Officer Trainees were made aware of Sardar Patel’s vision. It has always emphasised the significance of service and a sense of responsibility.
The Prime Minister also advised state officials to make decisions with the last man standing in mind.
“You’ve to work by understanding the difference between files and fields. You’ll have to connect with the field for the real feel,” he said.
