Ramgarh, April 21: A ‘Basic Life Support’ (BLS) training session was organized by Tata Steel Foundation, West Bokaro Division on April 19-20. The session was conducted for the students of classes 9th and 10th at Adarsh High School Bargaon on 19th April. 59 students and 8 teachers attended the session along with Sahiya ‘Santoshi Devi’ of Badgaon and School President Sumesar Mahto. This training was organized on 20th April at Jai Hind Vidya Niketan, Sondiha, in which more than 70 teachers and students participated. In this session, Taruna Devi, Mukhiya Sondiha along with School President Surendra Nath Mahato were also present.
‘Basic Life Support’ BLS training program is an initiative by Tata Steel Foundation to enable and empower everyone to save lives in emergency situations like cardiac arrest, suffocation and road traffic accidents. The training involves high school students, teachers and various stakeholders from the community through a variety of sessions.
All participants practised CPR on a mannequin and learned to use an AED defibrillator shock machine for emergency situations. The training session was conducted by Dr Mamta Gehlawat, Medical Officer, TSF along with the Public Health team.
