Jamshedpur, Dec 9: The much-awaited Tata Steel Jharkhand Literary Meet will be organised at the Audrey House in Ranchi from December 10-11. Returning for its fifth edition, the Tata Steel Jharkhand Literary Meet has become an important part of Jharkhand’s cultural fabric.
The festival annually celebrates Jharkhand’s rich and diverse culture. Drawing eminent literature and art personalities from across India and the world, this year’s meet will also witness national award-winning poet Javed Akhtar talk about ‘The Role of the Poet in Society’ at the event’s curtain raiser to be held at the Centre for Excellence in Jamshedpur later this evening.
It has been Tata Steel’s endeavour to promote art and literature in the country. One of the measures has been to hold Literary Meets in Bengal (Kolkata) and Odisha (Bhubaneswar).
“Our aim is to make the Jharkhand Literary Meet an event which would grow in stature to become an important item in the national social calendar, ” said a Tata Steel spokesman.
The main objective of the event is to support the promotion of literature among the literary minds of society.
The event also helps in connecting with the youth and the intellectual minds of society through such initiatives.
