Jamshedpur, May  15:  In an attempt to promote cleanliness and sustainability, the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban is set to inaugurate the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Centers between May 15 and June 5.

In preparation for this significant milestone, Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (UISL), formerly JUSCO, and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee ( JNAC ) recently held an extensive discussion to outline the road map for Mission Life.

The RRR Centre serves as a pivotal hub within the city, enabling citizens, institutions, and businesses to responsibly dispose of their excess plastic, clothing, electronic items, shoes, bags, books, toys, and more.

By embracing a 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) lifestyle, the RRR Centre aims to empower every individual to make a tangible contribution towards maintaining a clean city and preserving the environment.

Understanding the ecological impact of each item, the RRR Centre not only provides a storage facility but also collaborates with other stakeholders to reduce and recycle the collected materials.

Currently, Jamshedpur boasts five major RRR Centres operated by Tata Steel UISL, complemented by an additional 15 satellite RRR Centres established during the campaign.

Among these facilities, there is an Electronic Waste Centre, jointly managed by Tata Steel UISL and Hulladek Recycling, specifically designed to address electronic waste management and recycling.

To ensure the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban and the long-term operation of the RRR Centre, a dedicated team from JNAC and Tata Steel UISL is diligently working together. Regular meetings are being conducted to prioritize crucial aspects and ensure seamless coordination between all stakeholders involved.

The introduction of Geo tags for all RRR Centers will enhance their visibility and streamline operations.

Through these collective efforts, Jamshedpur aims to lead by example, inspiring other cities to adopt similar sustainable practices.
