Mumbai, Dec 12: Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth is celebrating his 72nd birthday on Monday. As the leading actor in Tamil cinema, Shivaji Rao Gaekwad is immensely popular by his stage name Rajinikanth. From a bus conductor to being the highest-paid Asian actor after Jackie Chan, Rajinikanth has indeed come a long way as he turns 72 today.
Superstar Rajinikanth was born on December 12, 1950. Hailing from the state of Karnataka, he made his debut in the film industry with the film Apoorva Ragangal released in the year 1975.
To make the actor’s birthday even more special his fans are leaving no stone unturned. His film ‘Baba’ was re-released two days ago. Also, Sun Pictures, the makers of his upcoming film, ‘Jailer’, announced a special update on social media that a glimpse of Rajinikanth’s Muthuvel Pandian from the film Jailer will be unveiled at 6 pm on December 12, on the occasion of Rajinikanth’s birthday.

Jailer is an action comedy written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu and Vinayakan in pivotal roles. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal. The jailer will release in the summer of 2023.
Apart from ‘Jailer’, Rajinikanth will also be seen in a special cameo in the upcoming Tamil film ‘Lal Salaam’.
