Ranchi: Allegations of illegal monetary collection under the Chief Minister Maiya Samman Scheme have surfaced in Jharkhand’s capital, prompting the district administration to take swift action. Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri has issued show-cause notices to three Anganwadi workers from the Dhurwa area, seeking their explanation within 24 hours.
According to the district administration, complaints were received via the official WhatsApp number of the public grievance cell. The messages alleged that the Anganwadi workers from three centers in Dhurwa had collected money from beneficiaries under the guise of application verification.
The three accused Anganwadi workers are:
• Archana Singh (Patel Field, Bandhan Kocha, Dhurwa)
• Geeta Kumari (Gayatri Nagar, Dhurwa)
• Usha Kumari (Kadam Khatal, Dhurwa)
Following the complaints, DC Bhajantri instructed the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Sadar, to obtain written responses from the accused workers and submit a detailed report within 24 hours.
Taking a stern stance on the issue, Bhajantri warned that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation within the stipulated timeframe would result in disciplinary action. He further stated that those found guilty could be removed from their posts.
The Chief Minister Maiya Samman Scheme aims to provide financial and social support to women beneficiaries across the state. Any misconduct in its implementation is viewed as a serious breach of public trust.
