Hazaribag, Oct 16: Three including two women and a girl child died when a mud cave collapsed while digging. Two other women sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Chatra Sadar hospital.
Sources said that all women were residents of Vilaspur village under Humajang panchayat in Pratappur block. They were cleaning their houses prior to Diwali. For this, the women had gone to bring mud from the forest and entered a cave like structure. They started digging the soil for mud when the structure collapsed all sudden.
Hearing their screams, locals reached the spot and fished them out of the debris. All were rushed to nearest health centre where three including a girl child were declared brought dead. Two others were sent to the Chatra Sadar hospital. Death of three in the area sparked grief with Diwali festivity turning sour. Dead bodies have been sent for postmortem to Chatra Sadar hospital.
