Ramgarh, Mar 4: Three players from Ramgarh district namely Priyanshu Kumari, Nisha Kumari and Chandan Kumar, along with coach Kamal Nayak were invited by Ramgarh District Rugby Association President Anmol Singh and Secretary Shashi Pandey to participate in the National Rugby Championship going to be held in Hyderabad.
The team was flagged off in the presence of youth leader Rajeev Jaiswal. The State Under-14 Rugby Football Championship was organized by the Ramgarh District Rugby Union at Gandhi High School ground in which many teams from different districts of Jharkhand participated.
In the competition, three players have been selected from Ramgarh for the national championship. On 5th and 6th March, the Sub-Junior National Championship will be organized in Hyderabad. Players from different states of the country will participate in this competition.
14 members from across Jharkhand, including 7 boys and 7 girls, will be part of the team.
Congratulating the players for the victory before leaving, BJP youth leader Rajeev Jaiswal said, “It is a matter of pride for our district as the players are going to participate in a national championship. We have full faith that they will return victorious and will illuminate the name of the entire Jharkhand state along with Ramgarh.”
He also congratulated the entire team of Ramgarh District Rugby Association and said, “There is no dearth of talented players in our region, just they do not get the right platform. It is the result of your hard work that you have players from remote areas. They were identified and given a platform which is commendable. May you all continue to do the same work; my best wishes are with you.”
Association treasurer Sumit Kumar, BJP leaders Babli Singh, Sanjay Sonkar, Vinay Ranjan, Rahul Pandey, Dhriti Bose, Dipankar Singh, Praveen Kumar, Bikki Mahato, Rajesh Munda, Mahavir Mahato were present among those who congratulated the team.
