Tight Security in Jharkhand for Bakrid: 5,500 Additional Forces Deployed Across 24 Districts

Ranchi: In view of the upcoming Bakrid festival, the Jharkhand Police Headquarters has ordered a significant reinforcement of security across the state. A total of 5,500 additional personnel, including armed and baton-wielding forces, are being deployed across all 24 districts to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.

Special Vigil in Sensitive Districts

Districts like Giridih, Hazaribagh, Palamu, Jamshedpur, and Ranchi have been marked as sensitive, and security has been intensified accordingly. These additional forces will remain on duty from June 6 to June 8, covering the entire duration of the Bakrid celebrations.

District-wise Deployment of Additional Forces:

Ranchi: 1,200 personnel

Hazaribagh: 800

Jamshedpur: 440

Giridih: 600

Sahibganj: 600

Lohardaga: 210

Palamu: 130

Bokaro: 135

Dhanbad: 135

Koderma: 110

Chaibasa: 110

Dumka: 110

Chatra: 100

Khunti: 100

Godda: 60

Deoghar: 60

Ramgarh: 60

Simdega: 60

Latehar: 60

Seraikela: 60

Gumla: 60

Pakur: 60

Jamtara: 60

Garhwa: 90

The state police are also coordinating closely with intelligence and local administration to ensure peaceful celebrations across communities. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and report any suspicious activities to maintain harmony during the festival.
