Ranchi: The issue of inadequate health facilities at Torpa Referral Hospital was raised in the Jharkhand Assembly. MLA Sudeep Gudiya said that the hospital currently does not have an ultrasound machine and also lacks an anesthesiology specialist, creating serious difficulties for patients.
Pregnant Women Forced To Travel To Other Hospitals
Sudeep Gudiya informed the House that due to the absence of essential medical equipment and specialists, pregnant women are often forced to travel to other hospitals for delivery. This situation causes significant inconvenience and risk for patients and their families.
Health Minister Assures Improvement In Facilities
Responding to the concerns, Health Minister Irfan Ansari said that the state government is working to improve healthcare infrastructure across Jharkhand. He assured the Assembly that ultrasound machines would soon be made operational wherever required.
Doctor Shortage Acknowledged By Government
During the discussion, MLA Gudiya also pointed out that three doctors from Torpa Hospital had been sent on deputation, which has further worsened the shortage of medical staff. The health minister acknowledged this issue in the House.
Government Promises Action Within A Month
Irfan Ansari assured that within one month the hospital would receive a gynecologist and a technician to operate the ultrasound machine, ensuring that pregnant women can receive proper treatment locally.
Opposition Takes A Dig In Assembly
Meanwhile, MLA C.P. Singh made a sarcastic remark during the discussion, suggesting that the doctor reportedly being offered ₹3 lakh in Patna should instead be sent to Torpa Referral Hospital.
