Deoghar, April 22: Two bike riders were crushed to death by a trailer coming from the opposite direction near Budhwakura village on Deoghar-Godda main road under the Mohanpur police station area late at night on Thursday. Both were declared dead on the spot.
The police, on getting the information, rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. One of the deceased was identified as Lalan Pandit, a resident of Chandih Baswaria under the Kunda police station area who worked as a mechanic. The other victim could not be identified as his upper body was badly damaged in the accident. The trailer’s driver ran away after the accident.
According to the information, the deceased was coming from Godda. Lalan’s brother was also coming from the Godda following the two of them at a distance. He reached the accident spot and found his brother dead.
The spiral turning point near Budhwakura village is converting into an accident-prone area as within a week, seven people have lost their lives in accidents including a minor.
On April 15, four members of a family died as the four-wheeler in which they were coming to Deoghar from Sahebganj had a head-on collision with a tree after the tyre of the vehicle burst.
On April 18, a 40-year-old resident of Bilasi town of Deoghar also died on this spot.
