Jamshedpur, Sept 22: TRF Limited (Tata Robins Frazer) hosted Padmashree awardee Jamuna Tudu, also popularly known as “Lady Tarzan of Jharkhand“ for her outstanding contribution towards the conservation of forest to maintain the ecological balance of nature.
Jamuna Tudu shared her experience about her efforts of leadership to stop deforestation in Jharkhand and its neighbouring areas and her positive impact on the conservation of forest land.
She created a Forest Protection Committee with some of the like-minded women. On this occasion, CFO Anand Chand, CHRO ( chief human resource officer ) Abhijeet Singh, General Secretary Tata Robins Frazer Labour Union M H Hiramaneek and other senior officers, employees and volunteers were present in the programme and gained from her experience.
On this occasion, CFO Anand Chand felicitated Tudu with a shawl and CHRO Abhijeet Singh presented a memento to her from the TRF Family.
Jamuna Tudu is an Indian environmental activist. She and five other women prevented the illegal felling of trees near her village and this later expanded into an organisation.
She is popularly called ‘Lady Tarzan’ for taking on the timber mafias and Naxals in Jharkhand
